You could have
blamed
the swaying
the tossing and
turning
of wanting and
yearning
but it was
really
Fate’s crazy
counterpart
Circumstance
playing naughty tricks
on two already
anxious
lovebirds
gravity tugs
at our heart
strings
but its pull
is dwarfed by
what your eyes
have done
reeling me in and
buckling my knees
so nonchalant
I can feel your
want
so many sensations
though no contact
to speak of
to blame
to give this feeling a name
And this poetry
in motion
will remain
in motion
until an outside Force,
or the next bus stop,
gets in our way
And even then
we’ll put up a
fight
It’s shocking
that this
vessel
can withstand the
pressure
the tension
emanating
occupying the three
inches
between us,
space meant to
spare those whose
presence
we ceased
to recognize
after hazel met
green,
space that
we would very
much like
to be rid of
no tears would
be shed at
its disappearance
but clothes might
