the fragile things September 19, 2009

dot your eyes
with hearts
and sighs
as dreams drift
and linger like
the scent of summer
the green of
summer
putting up a
fight
this year
against the
inevitable orange
transition
that tears us
limb from limb
heart from heart
end to start

nostalgia
like an old
gym sock
come back to
mock
what’s left to
rot
annoyed at
the stability
of lovers, readily
rebuilding
the fragile things
time
rips apart
no one
really
departs
from a bond
like this
more than mere
molecular
chemistry
it’s truly
spectacular

how you move
the unmovable
breaking laws
and taking hearts
(only mine
of course)
let’s not play
pretend
we both know
it’s real
start to end
