You’re the best
no you really are
Such bright lights
may have difficulty
realizing how warmly
they shine
When they,
humble as they are,
scarcely find mirrors
all that appealing

They ask for nothing
in return for their
light
and they rarely get
exactly what they
deserve
Until someone special
rounds their path
and loves them so much
that they can’t help but
reflect
all the beauty the light
bestows selflessly
upon them,
for everyone to see

A love like that
can’t helped but be
noticed, even on
the darkest nights
But this moon often worries
that one day the Sun will
yearn for something more
than a cold, eager rock
